Going 'beyond the mat'
Taking yoga off the mat...and into the world....
Yoga is not just about what you do on the mat...it's also about what you do off the mat and out in the world. Practising yoga can lead to great personal transformation and change but personal practice is not enough...
How can you expand this inner 'sphere of change' to become something outward looking as well?
How can you use your positive energy and skills to support local and global communities, working actively towards social equality, justice and peace?

red tree yoga creates and develops a wide range of creative 'beyond the mat' projects across a range of different settings. These unique projects bring together Parmjit's expertise in drama, story making, global citizenship/education and yoga. Most importantly, these 'beyond the mat' projects explore a variety of issues connected to compassion, care, kindness, community, empowerment, equality and social justice. These projects aim to inspire and empower individuals and groups to take action and create positive change locally and globally.

'Be The Change' Theatre is a drama project which explores social responsibility, empowerment, having a voice and taking creative and dynamic action to help our local and global communities. Through using creativity and the arts, this project encourages individuals and groups of people to 'act for change'. Participants of 'Be the Change' Theatre projects become 'agents of change' who collaborate and put into action creative projects that raise awareness of inequality and injustice, helping to bring about positive social change. |
